Merry Hill......
Phew! Just a short Circular walk today!
Merry Hill.... Sounds very tudor to me but I couldnt really see anything tudor about the place.
Views are very beautiful but not as I suspected. Stuck behind urban Bushey in Hertfordshire, a very country place, could have quite easily been devon... but the lack of sea and the Pylon gave away the fact it wasn't! Apart from that a lovely place to have a picnic....
But then again, I would put a word of warning out there..... There are potentially dangerous animals there... Oh well may be not dangerous - Cows - just very friendly, docile and curious. So I left them alone and wandered over to Jubilee bridge, then to hartsbourne wood and then via the fruit field.
A good place a stroll...
Just realised just over a month until my walk now! eek..............
Training
Have been training for ages - mostly around Watford and Cassiobury Park. Walking from Cassiobury Park to Croxley Green via Loudwater. Common Moor off the Grand Union Canal. So decided something different yesterday (even though it was HOT!!
Upminster Bridge to Elm Park - this was not the planned route - was from Upminster Bridge to Rainham via the London Loop. I was so convinced it would be a built up area I didnt bring my camera - what a shock I had ingrebourne (?) Valley and Hornchurch country park are stunning. Cornfields and wildlife a plenty - Walked about 2 1/2 miles then had to turn off the planned route to walk to Elm Park (which was another 1/2 mile) - Sadly was rushing to go out......
Still plan to finish the route to Rainham marshes and this time take the camera.....
Getting Ready.....
Have been preparing over the last few months for this little jaunt in Cornwall.
A friend has been helping me with my training, which I know I have been grateful for.
Having looked at the south west coast path website and talking to the cornish coast guard it seems that this is the most difficult part of the path...... Still I am looking forward rather than backing out now!
My parents are my back-up team - all thanks to them for there support!
Anyways off on Sunday for my longest walk yet
